Danish Nano Safety Centre contributes with new knowledge necessary for all stages of a risk assessment of nanoparticles in the workplace:

  • Characterization of nanoparticles
  • Measurements and modelling of exposures
  • Studies of adverse effects and mechanisms
  • Development of methods for evaluation and risk management of nanoparticles.

In addition, the Centre develops practical tools to assess the risk of exposure during use and handling of nanoparticles in specific work situations. And finally, the Centre creates the basis for assessing the effectiveness of ventilation and respiratory protection to reduce exposure to nanoparticles.

The Centre thus will have considerable impact on the way nanosafety is handled at Danish workplaces.
